Do you have a side business you have started? Maybe you have your own Etsy shop, Direct Sales Business, or other part time side gig?
You have an EASY way to monetize your blog in your hands, let me tell you why!

How to Use your side business to Monetize your Blog. #makemoney #directsales #sidebusiness #momblog

1. You Can Meet Tons of New People

So many times in network marketing, direct sales, etc. you are told the key is to start spreading the word to people you know. Naturally, you will grow from there. Sometimes that is easier said than done. You already have this platform to share with others your passion and your business, so why not utilize it appropriately?

Sure, I believe your business (including your blog) should be shared with people you know. However, I think you will find that there are so many more people in your niche that are going to find your blog if you market yourself the right way.

By being someone people can trust, you will easily monetize your blog with products you love! More on the trust factor in point number 3.

2. You are in Control of What you Advertise

Below I will talk more about how you can weave this into your blog. Have you ever visited a blog that has so much advertisement that you leave faster than you came? A junked up blog is something I want to avoid, so I am very picky with what I choose to advertise.

I do not want to monetize my blog through clickbait, flashy ads, or other cluttered ways.

By using the tactics I outline below, you will be in complete control of how much or how little you want to advertise.

3. You Start Building Passive Income

Once you get some steady traffic, people enjoy your site and come back for more each time. They feel connected to you and trust your recommendations. You can talk about your favorite product (in my case books) and talk about which one is appropriate for different situations. You can market on pinterest and people will shop your side business site when you embed links and talk about the product.

4. You Weave your Passions Together

For me I love to write. Also, I love my kids. I have a passion for childhood literacy. It’s great that I can weave all of those together with my side business of Usborne books and more. I share the books on my blog, and make money doing it, because people naturally fall in love with the books.

Now I have told you why it’s easy to monetize your side business with your Blog. Let me tell you how.

1. Embedded Links

When writing a blog post, you can make recommendations to the books. This post is an example of how I embedded the book link into a post about a road trip!

The link will take people directly to my Usborne Books and More site to purchase a similar book.

2. URL Redirect

On my Top Menu I link to Books. If you click on it, it will take you directly to my Usborne Books and More sales page

If you want to do this through wordpress, just go to Appearance, Then Menus

You want to select your main menu. Next click on Custom Links and add your link and text.

Once you add to menu, you can Move it to another sot on the menu

Once you save it you can see it on your site

When I click on it: it takes me directly here:

3. Side Widgets

Another option is to add it to your widgets on the side. I made a quick image through Canva.

Below the Image you will have the option to link it to something. You can do this for any affiliate marketing, just be cautious and check your link often to make sure your link is still good 🙂

4. Creating Posts About the Product

Pinterest is my #1 referral source to my blog, and I use that platform to market. But you have to start with creating posts that solve a problem for your niche. Then, you can easily use the side biz to monetize your blog!

Some possible posts to make with your business:

  • Round-Up Post- My favorite _____
  • Top-sales posts – Everyone’s Buying these 5 ______
  • Why Post: Why You NEED _______ In Your Life

If you are selling something your kids use (like books):

  • My Kids have Quit Screens to Read Books
  • The #1 Thing Keeping my Toddler Busy
  • How to Give Mommy Some Peace and Quiet
  • Books Kids LOVE
